Final Fantasy VII Rebirth expands Cloud and his companions' journey beyond Midgar into a massive open world filled with narrative quests, minigames, and extensive side activities. Players embarking on this journey often wonder how much time they need to set aside to experience everything the game offers. Understanding the expected playthrough length helps gamers balance their time between the main campaign and optional side content.

Main Story Completion Time

For players focusing strictly on the critical story path, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth takes roughly 40 to 50 hours to complete. Skipping optional region exploration and side quests allows you to progress through the story chapters at a much faster pace. However, sticking strictly to main objectives may leave your party under-leveled for late-game boss encounters.

Main Story Plus Side Content

Taking a balanced approach by completing regional World Intel, side quests, and minigames extends the playtime to around 80 to 100 hours. Engaging in these extra activities rewards players with essential party bonds, rare summons, and valuable crafting materials. Most players naturally fall into this category as exploring new biomes offers compelling rewards along the main path.

Completionist and Platinum Trophy Length

Tackling everything Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has to offer requires a massive time commitment of 150 to 200 hours. Achieving a 100% completion rate involves clearing every combat simulator challenge, mastering minigames, and finishing the campaign on Hard Mode. Dedicated completionists should prepare for an exhaustive yet rewarding journey across all regions.

Tips to Manage Your Playtime Efficiently

To optimize your playthrough, focus on completing World Intel activities that unlock useful materia and summons rather than trying to clear every point of interest immediately. You can easily return to previous zones later in the game to finish missed side quests without slowing down narrative momentum. Adjusting difficulty settings or utilizing combat shortcuts can also help streamline your progress through challenging encounters.
